Joshua's final plea to Israel describes what it means to serve the Lord in sincerity and in faithfulness; to serve Him and no one else.

Because the Lord is faithful to His covenant and to His people, Joshua exhorts Israel to cling to and to love the Lord.

At the heals of chastisement, the Lord extends grace to His people that they might trust His promises, be directed in their endeavors and provoked to faithful obedience.

The Servant of Jehovah identifies with His people, bearing their sin and interceding on their behalf.
