1 Timothy 2:9-15

Though not a popular teaching in our day and age, Paul gives clear direction concerning the role of men and women in God’s church.

We above all as Christians should be known as people who follow the Law. Of course first and foremost the Law of God. But also the laws of the land as Romans 13 tells us to come under our governing authorities. Are you living “as a lifestyle” in sin and lawlessness, or righteousness and obedience? We need to be sure we are living a life that is pleasing to the Lord, and as a light to the world.

As Paul calls us the church to wage the good warfare, it is not a call to fight against people, but a call to fight for people. A fight that is to take place on our knees, praying for all people, in line with God's heart who desires that all people be saved.

If you are a believer, then you are a child of God. As we look into today's passage we see that John's desire is for our response to be one of love and adoration for our Father who has done so much for us, despite our short-comings. Our relationship with Christ should be just that, a relationship, an on-going two-way conversation as we grow in our walk with Him.

After letting Timothy know the teaching that shouldn't be the driving force of the church, Paul now makes clear what the right teaching should be. Through his own life, Paul shows how powerful and unrivaled this true doctrine really is.

Starting something new is one thing, continuing and staying faithful in it is

quite another. As we look at this passage of Scripture, John will speak about the commitment we make unto the Lord and how we can keep it until His return.
