The Bible calls us to have confidence but to have it in the right place. Our confidence is to be found not in ourselves, or in the resources of this world or even in others but in our God. John finishes his letter by letting us know that if we are going to walk in a right relationship with the Lord, then having this confidence in our God and what He has provided for us through Jesus and knowing what is ours in Him is absolutely essential.
