"Seeing is believing" is a phrase we are all familiar with. Although this may be true in the physical realm, it is the opposite for the spiritual. We see in today's passage a blind man receive his sight after he believes and obeys what Jesus tells him. Likewise, we need to put our faith in Jesus and do what He says, then our spiritual eyes will be opened. Has Jesus opened your eyes?

It is easy to feel that the Christian walk would be a piece of cake if weren't for other Christians. God is perfect, which makes Him easy to love, while people aren't, which makes them hard to love. Yet John won't let us escape the fact that if we are going to have a right relationship with God, it means we must have a right relationship with others.

Anyone who kills an animal and does not bring an offering is guilty. The life is in the blood and I have given it to make atonement. Don't have sex with a relative, a woman on her period, your neighbour's wife, another man or an animal. These things defile the land. Be holy. Keep my Sabbaths. Don't turn to idols. Love your neighbour as yourself. Don't mix livestock. Do no injustice. I am the LORD. Anyone who worships Molech, curses their parents, commits adultery or has sex with a man shall be put to death. You shall be holy.
