Everyone lives life expecting something. Sometimes our expectations are great, other times they are not. The Jews were expecting a Great Leader to arrive and save them. But their expectations were misdirected. Many today live with misdirected expectations as well. It is hard for us to think that God could delay in answering our prayers, or maybe never answer our prayers in our life time, especially when we feel God has given us the dream we are to pray for. In today’s message we will look at some of the reason why our prayers go unanswered, and what we can do about it.

We all have dreams - or at least we did. What desires has God placed in your heart to be fulfilled? Maybe your dreams need to be revised, reawakened, or launched anew. As He showed the Israelites with the meat he provided in the dessert, God may surprise you - His arm is not too short to fulfill your dreams!

Romans 12:2 Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

If life is like a game of chess then we must never be so quick to tip our King in defeat. We must never surrender to the enemy. The story of Samson in Judges 13-16 has nothing do with him but everything to do with God. His life is a living lesson in the grace of God. How a man who was beaten, blinded, humiliated by his own repeated sin, reached the bottom, turned around and discovered that God was waiting for him all the time. There is nothing heroic about Samson. He did nothing but serve himself. In the end all he did was turn around and found out God was still there. God is the hero of the story.

The book of Judges is loaded with people of all degrees stepping up to be used by God in magnificent ways. In today’s message we look at the life of Deborah, the only woman in scripture to hold a top political position, drawing principles of leadership that anyone can incorporate.
