The church is built of redeemed people from different backgrounds, on the foundation of the gospel, for God himself to occupy, and at the cost of the blood of Jesus. When it comes to any building you have to consider four things:

Jesus reconciles us to one another as he reconciles people to God through the cross.  The destruction of the barrier between God and humanity is inseparably linked to the destruction of the barriers that exists between people–particularly barriers of ethnicity and race. 

The problem of separation among people (as terrible as its effects can be) is only a symptom of a larger problem, which is our separation from God. As a result, there is only one solution to both problems.

If we are saved by grace, then does it even matter what we do? Yes! But what we do is not the basis of our salvation. It is the result. We are saved...

The most important two-word phrase in the history of human speech is "But God..." Despite what we are and what we deserve, God's love compels him to give his children new life and eternal hope that begins right now.
