The standard of any Christian relationship should be love as modeled from Jesus Himself. Much like a physician's oath to do no harm, so is the expectation for members of the shared community that is Jesus' Church (2 Corinthians 1:12-2:13).

We often isolate ourselves when going through suffering. At times, this is because we don't want to burden others with our problems. Hidden beneath that seemingly selfless intention lies a mistaken notion of independence. Just as in Salvation, so as amongst the church, no believer is meant to navigate the issues of life alone. In our suffering, God reminds us that no one is self-reliant. 2 Corinthians 1:8-11
