The five points of Calvinism all depend on each other. They stand or fall together.Irresistible grace: the belief that when God chooses someone to be saved, they cannot help but to come to Christ. It is not a question of whether the Holy Spirit leads man to salvation, but how He does it.He effects:The new birth by the Word (I Peter 1:22; John 3:5)Cleansing (John 17:17) and sanctification by the Word (I Corinthians 6:11)Convicts man of sin by the Word (Titus 1:9)Salvation by the Word (Titus 3:5)John 8:32; 17:17Indwells the Christian by the Word (Ephesians 3:17; Romans 10:17; Colossians 3:16)II Timothy 1:14Revelation 2:13; II John 1:2Romans 1:16 – The gospel is God’s power to save. The doctrine of irresistible grace falls because it is built on a faulty foundation and because it undermines the power of the gospel for salvation.Acts 7:51; Hebrews 10:29-31 – Both these verses show the doctrine to be false.
