It's an all new year and an all new episode of the Camerosity Podcast!  We're back at our regular time for some call in camera discussion!

For episode 17, Theo, Paul, Anthony, and I were joined by returning callers Dan Hausman, Hong Lee, Mark Faulkner, Mark Peterson, and Miles Libak where we posed the question, "What are the worst cameras you've ever used that have the best lenses?"  It proved to be a worthwhile discussion as it spawned a lot of strong opinions, and some controversy!  Definitely check it out and maybe next time, you can tell us which cameras you don't like...or something completely different!

This week's episode of the Camerosity Podcast is one for the ages.  Michael Wescott Loder, Nikon historian and author of "The Nikon Camera in America 1946-1953", joins us to discuss a huge number of topics regarding Nikon's history along with the Zeiss-Ikon Tenax II and a huge number of other cameras that he is interested in.  We go over everything from Nippon Kogaku's role in the post war Japanese camera industry, why they were successful and Canon wasn't, Nikon rangefinder prototypes, and a whole lot of other interesting topics.

Also joining in on the discussion is none other than president of the Nikon Historical Society, and fellow author, Robert Rotoloni jumps in to add his thoughts and ask some questions of his own.

This week on the Camerosity Podcast, we were once again joined by previous guests Paul Rybolt and Mike Novak and first time caller, Hong Joon Lee who has been following on Facebook and purchased the Contax Sonnar 1.5 I recently sold.  Half way through the show however, we were joined by camera collector extraordinaire, Ira Cohen, whose massive collection of cameras I was able to visit earlier this year.  Ira has the largest collection of rare and unusual cameras I've ever seen and the level of knowledge he has about collecting is unmatched.

This was a fascinating episode that went in completely unpredictable directions with a lot of talk about Miranda and their history, why the Nikon F was so successful, what point is a Leica copy not longer a copy, and much, much more!
