There is a forecast that shows Canadians could lose 635K jobs and the Economy could lose $85B per year in growth.  The study shows it's mostly due to our individual and corporate tax rates not being competetive with the United States.

The fight to get the Kinder Morgan pipeline axed continues and some environmental groups are going as far as speaking on behalf of First Nations when not all are opposed to the project.

NAFTA continues to make headlines as it affects everything from interest rates, stock markets and the loonies value.  A trade war would not only do damage to Canada, but the US as well.

Canadian Oil sells at a steep discount compared to other countries on the market.  At todays prices, America saves almost $45 Million a day on Canadian Oil because Canada doesn't have the capacity to ship oil to the world market.

It's hard to be involved in the issues of the day and not realize that once the ball gets rolling, and the stories start to stack up, the issues become politicized and then nothing ever gets done.

Taxpayers payed a net $4.175 Billion for the Kinder Morgan Pipeline.  Now that we all own the pipeline, is it in the best interest if it succeeds or fails?

One of the most important questions that isn't being asked or discussed in the pipeline debate is what alternatives do we have to transport oil?  The worldwide need for oil continues to grow so how do proponants suggest we get it to market?

The underlying arguement that education should recieve more funding is that an educated populace is a benefit for society.  If this is the case, why do we not teach the basics of economics and finance, including personal finance?

It's the first day of school, and in the last 20 years, not much has changed in the way we educate our kids.  Our world is changing, but the way we deliver education is not progressing at the same speed.
