In Episode 6, I am so excited to be talking to Laura Gilbert, a mentor of mine, and the NCOE AmeriCorps VIP Program Manager. She is a leader that guides with compassion, empathy, and constant self-work; but in this episode Laura tells us about her life outside of AmeriCorps leadership. We discuss how growing up in Stockton, CA transformed her perspective on racial inequality, and how dropping out of college helped her find the right path. She tells us about about the friendships made and challenges face while completing two years of AmeriCorps NCCC, and sums it all up with how much being a mother has changed her life. In between, we talk introverts, empaths, travel, seekers, leadership, allies, silencing, compassion, independence, relationships, trauma and much more.
Come join us by the fire! I'm Grayson Black, and this, is Campfire Bandy.
Thanks for listening, and thanks to Laura for coming on!
