Hilton Head, South Carolina, is a land of luxury, so it makes sense there would be a truly luxurious RV resort nearby. Hilton Head National RV Resort is notable for its meticulous campsites and a fabulous array of amenities. This campground offers fun for the whole family---or a place to kick back and relax in the upscale atmosphere of Hilton Head.

Hilton Head National RV Resort is located off of Highway 278, just before the causeway that separates the island from the mainland, near the town Bluffton. One side of the grounds is dedicated to Hilton Head National Golf Course and the other side is the newly-built RV resort. While you aren't directly in Hilton Head, you are just 10-12 minutes outside of town, and it's an easy jump onto the island.

Our friend Bill Sferazza shared a great review of Hilton Head National RV Resort with Jeremy. To hear the full review, click play on the media player above–or listen to the RV Atlas wherever you get your favorite podcasts.

Is Hilton Head National RV Resort a True Resort?

As we know, lots of campgrounds toss "resort" into their names. What makes a campground a resort comes down to a few items...ambiance, amenities, campsites, and service. While sharing his review of Hilton Head National RV Resort, our friend Bill Sferrazza literally said, "It's the nicest place to put your RV I've ever been to."

Bill doesn't say that lightly, as he has stayed in places like Carolina Pines RV Resort (which he helped review here) and Castaways RV Resort (which he told us all about here), among others. Bill knows what he's talking about! If you don't believe him, check out all of the amazing photos he shared with us for this post.

While the renowned Carolina Pines might have more amenities, Bill says everything about Hilton Head National RV Resort is top level, as far as quality and care. This resort is truly top notch.

Amenities at Hilton Head National RV Resort

You'll know you're staying someplace special when you first enter the clubhouse at Hilton Head National RV Resort. This isn't your basic camp store. It has all of your basic supplies here, of course, but venture further inside to find a comfortable lounge and the fitness center. A nice dining spot, Billy Mac’s Grille, is also located in the clubhouse. We love being able to grab a quick meal---or even simple snacks---without having to leave the campground! Spend some time on the porch to soak in the setting.

The pool area is definitely a focal point. Parents will enjoy the tiki bar. Kids will enjoy the water features and the zero entry, with nice areas for little ones to splash around. And, of course, the whole family will love the lazy river and the rentable cabanas. Nearby is a pickleball court, tennis court, and playground.

You'll find quite a few other amenities at Hilton Head National RV Resort, including walking trails, a dog park, lawn games, arcade, and large community fire pit. The laundry facilities and comfort stations are all exceptionally well done!

The Campground Experience

The resort-level customer service at Hilton Head National RV Resort starts the minute you check in. Valets are awaiting to escort you to your campsite, at all hours of the day and night. They can help you back-in, if needed. In total, the resort has over 300 campsites. Most sites are back in, though there are a handful of pull-thrus. All of the sites are so big and well designed that you won't really mind backing in!

The campsites are huge and have concrete pads. Even the hookup pedestals are classy! Seriously! They look like mini lighthouses, which is the perfect touch.
