In this episode we explore what is lifestyle medicine which encompasses a truly holistic process of health looking beyond the prescription of medication.
Incorporating Lifestyle Medicine changes into your daily life can often help avoid unnecessary medications and surgery and limiting the use of these to only when really needed. The key ways to improve your physical health are by eating nutritious foods, sleeping well, exercising regularly, avoiding intoxicants and most importantly looking after your own mental health to reduce stress and maintain healthy relationships (with yourself and with others around you).
Dr Bruce Lipton has been saying for years that our epigenetics means that “DNA is not our Destiny.” What this means practically is that by changing our mental and physical environment for healthier alternatives; we can change our genetic makeup and alter our future body health. We can prevent illnesses and even reverse long term mental and physical health conditions. So how can we keep our mind’s healthy? By changing behaviour patterns and shifting our mindset we really can achieve tremendous success in our lives and not be limited by ill health. By reflecting and understanding ourselves we can express our own true authenticity and true nature which will give us purpose and inner contentment. This removes stress and promotes resilience. We can use our conscious community, spiritual teachings, and scientific research to implement these changes in ourselves and reach our fullest potential.
