With dissatisfaction with the major parties being at an all-time high, some consider the next general elections as a potentially historic spectacle, where major wins for independent candidates and small parties threaten to win big.

The recent local elections displayed the scale of public frustration and dissatisfaction among the general public towards the main political parties.

Whilst Gaza might have been the point at which people began to question the very values claimed by successive governments, indeed by Western civilization generally, including human rights, women and child safety, democracy and international law, issues at home are playing a significant part in fueling the general appetite for real change.
