The Srebrenica genocide in 1995, was the culmination of a conflict that marked one of the darkest moments of Europe, indeed humanity. What led to that horrific crime, and what challenges does Bosnia find itself confronting today?

The Balkans war of the early 90s marked a violation of the pledge “Never Again” made in the aftermath of the 2nd World War and the Nazi Holocaust. A war based on ethnicity and religion that had neighbours pitted against each other, and acts of treachery the likes of which boggles the mind, committed and perpetrated.

In today’s episode, Anas Altikriti discusses with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Osman Topcagic, the prevalent situation in Bosnia, and the underlying challenges to peace and stability. The Ambassador explains the ongoing obstinance of Serbia, supported by some European countries, to block Bosnia’s wish to join the EU and NATO.

No one questions the right to demonstrate, unless it’s the British authorities, it seems. The case brought against leading figures of the Pro-Palestine solidarity movement brings to question the entire structure of rights and freedoms when they are interpreted by political and security authorities.

Chris Nineham discusses with Anas Altikriti, the significant changes these rights have seen over the decades since the formation of the modern anti-war movement. They discuss also the state of the Left and the “social revolt” in light of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, and what means for the future of the next generation .

With all eyes on Gaza and the ongoing genocide, Kashmir remains, 78 years on, under Indian occupation and subject to continuous genocidal policies.

Whilst receiving plentiful prayers and well-wishes, and whilst recognized as an ongoing occupation which wants to eradicate the natives, it seems that no one has a clue what to do regarding the crisis of Kashmir. For 78 years and counting, India has been implementing policies of extermination against the people of Kashmir, yet no state, let alone Muslim state, has stood for the freedom of Kashmir on the public sphere.

India being the economic and human resource powerhouse that it is, seems to have succeeded in intimidating everyone into accepting this calamity to simply carry on and continue.

Anas Altikriti, speaks with Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur about this and the ongoing struggle of freedom for Kashmir.
