Can AI really be taught to be creative?
Let's take another voyage into the future, on the good ship SS Tomorrow. In 2046, the singularity has happen yet we see humans and cobots (collaborative robots) working side by side. Cobots are performing laborious tasks and humans are adding in finesse. It seems we are still a long way of understanding how to teach context and nuance, if AI is to get creative. Perhaps somethings are left to humanity.
Take things back to the present. today's guests have either co-authored with AI or has built an app where AI can write copy for small business marketing.
Shane Neeley holds degrees in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and bioengineering. He traded in his lab coat for a laptop and has spent the last decade writing code for biomedical software companies. He is particularly interested in AI for language generation and other means of computational creativity, like visual art.
As an author, blogger and podcaster, Shane shares a transformative message about technology and biology through comedic writing and speaking.
His latest project is a book, Stone Age Code: From Monkey Business to AI. The book itself, the cover art, the acclaim, and numerous prose snippets were made with the help of some charismatic robots that he trained.
