Canada's U.S. ties have become 'weaknesses' that must be corrected

On April 19, 2026, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney released a 10-minute video address stating that Canada’s traditionally close economic ties to the United States have shifted from a strength to "weaknesses that we must correct".
