Thanks so much and let’s keep this conversation going

We were finally living life again.  The doctor visits had stopped, the radiation treatments were behind us, and the scans were clear.  We were traveling. laughing, and embracing every sunrise and sunset with gratitude.  Life felt normal again.  

Then the doctor walked back into the room and said the words we never wanted to hear: "The cancer is back."

In an instant, our world changed.  More doctors.  More scans.   More radiation.  More appointments.  The emotional roller coaster started all over again.

But as a caregiver, I have a question: What about us? Everyone asks how the patient is doing.  but few ask how the caregiver is surviving.   The exhaustion, fear, sleepless nights, and emotional weight can be overwhelming.
