Cancer is the top financial cost to employers due to delayed care during the pandemic and an increase in late stage diagnosis. In addition to the high cost of treatment, employees can experience tremendous stress and fatigue as they navigate treatment or care for a loved one through cancer. In this episode, we spoke with Laura Leach, Clinical Exercise Physiologist at OhioHealth's McConnel Heart Health Center, and Denise Bridgette, Advisor for OhioHealth's Oncology Service Line about the many facets of life impacted by a cancer diagnosis and how employers can advocate for preventative and disease specific care by embracing their employees in a culture of compassion.
