Good morning, my friends. Welcome to a wonderful Wednesday to talk about cannabis. If you are an active cannabis investor, my heart goes out to you. We are. Brothers and sisters have a common sort that have just been murdered by the market, but if you're sticking through it, I think one day we will rebound here, we will.
Correct. But in the meantime, we're going to chat about what's going on in the market. This is your host Elliot lane of Benzing as cannabis daily. Let's dive in. Back to South Dakota activists say they once again, have more than enough signatures to place marijuana legalization on the November ballot voters previously approved it.
If you remember in 2020 presidential election only to be overturned. On procedural grounds in a court challenge led by their governor. This is per marijuana moment. Hopefully we cannot continue to talk about this and they get this fully legalized shortly air wellness, Ayr WF on the OTC expands their product portfolios in both Massachusetts and Ohio on the same line there, flora growth Corp FLDC on the next.
Their brand and mind naturals launches a new skincare line ahead of luxury meets cannabis conference. So a new products coming from a lot of the major players today. I'm playing at 13 P L N H F on the OTC, expanding their partnership with super popular brand. That's dizzy. That's STI I Z Y yes, they do have three eyes and their name.
There'll be expanding from the original partnership, which was in the orange county. It's been a huge hit to now their Los Vegas Superstore for the steezy shopping shop as, but they call it dizzy is the leading California brand per headset per their press release that came out this morning.
Can trust. If you all don't remember, can trust you probably haven't been in the marijuana industry for more than a year or two. But can trust was a darling of cannabis a licensed producer in Canada and then a scandalous downfall. And they have been recovering really ever since and trying to.
I would say paid debts getting good graces whatever you want to say, but they are rebranding today. Normally don't announce three brands, but this one seems rather important with all the news of can trust in the past two Faena holdings, P H O E N a holdings for a new corporate name and a fresh start.
So congrats to that team. They've worked very well. To get to this moment and hopefully this is the start of a new day for that company. New York state reminds the hemp industry that THC isomers derived from him that caused psychoactive effects are. Limits Delta eight, Delta 10, any synthetic cannabinoids of THC orient that are psychoactive and derived from hemp are illegal. In my opinion, this is the future. Once these states have all legalized marijuana, in some sense, are those that have, I would imagine they will stick by their decision and not allow unregulated competition in the states all of licensed marijuana sales in the us.
Eclipsed Starbucks per MJ biz. Super interesting article, if you want to check it out. But Starbucks made a little over 20 billion are probably, in the low twenties of the billions and the U S eclipse, I think around 20. For a billion around 25 billion last year. So we beat Starbucks. Y'all at give yourselves a pat on the back.
If you are working in the cannabis space, they also beat legal opioids. They beat salty snacks. They'd beat over the counter painkillers and over the counter sleep aids. Each individually. And they did not eclipse cigarettes and they did not eclipse all over the counter medicines as a whole super interesting comparison there.
New ma or yeah, New Mexico sold $22 million in recreational cannabis in the first month. They were doing so. They launched April 1st. So that is all of April sales. The state of Connecticut innovations invests in company 1906. We covered this yesterday, but just to reiterate how cool this is excuse me, the investment was prompted by the company's position as the number one cannabis pill.
In the U S as well as successful revenue generation last but not least New Jersey lawmakers file a bill to restrict marijuana use by police and other workers. I would imagine we all hope that is stricken down, but of course, Don't use cannabis on the job, all things that probably don't need to be said.
That being said, if I'm looking at winners for the day, I think planet 13 stock wise is what I'm looking at. But really the news is centered around markets regions, and those looking to expand and improve their access to marijuana's marijuana for consumers. Does Elliot lane.
