Very Helpful!
When my wife and I first married, we rented a house on a farm and the landowner gave us a plot of land to use as a garden. That year, our cucumber crop was amazing and my wife put up nearly 50 quarts of pickles (and I never met a pickle I didn't like). This book will really help you get started canning. It helped me and I already knew some stuff about it. Imagine if you couldn't go to the store today and get what you needed. What if you just had to rely on what was already in your pantry? Get this book and you'll be prepared with something to eat. This book is packed with great information and tips.
Interesting read
I always thought that the canning procedure was difficult (if done the proper and right way). This books goes into the different canning and preserving methods and how to use them to prepare, properly canned foods. It also contains some not-so recommended methods and the reasons why you should avoid them. Overall, I got to say this title was an excellent introduction to canning and preserving, at least for myself as I had not previous experience these procedures. A++
