In a coup for the 'Can't Bowl Can't Throw' podcast, we interview chief cricket writer at The Australian newspaper, Mr Peter Lalor.

I pronounced his surname incorrectly. That went down well.

If that isn't cool enough, we spoke to him LIVE from the Dubai Press Box (Tea Break, Day 2 of the 1st Pakistan v Australia Test).

It's a slightly messy recording as the game is going on live, Peter was eating a piece of cake and he had to keep his voice down for the courtesy of others.

Having said all of that, the insights are simply brilliant!

Live From The Press Box With Peter Lalor! - CBCT

The West Indies have pulled out of their series with India, just before a three Test match series was about to begin.

The issue has to do with money. Who would have guessed!

The West Indies Players Association, led by ex player Wavell Hinds, have agreed a deal with the West Indies Cricket Board that some of the key players don't agree with. To show their disappointment, the players have quit the tour.

In response for withdrawing from the tour, the Indians are suing the West Indies for USD$60m+. The annual turnover of West Indies cricket is only USD$23m.

Could this kill off West Indies cricket forever?

To understand the issue in further detail, I chat with David Oram from 'Voice of Barbados' radio in, you guessed it, Barbados.

Finally, it would be remiss of me not to remind everyone that India pulled a similar stunt in South Africa in 2013. Back then, they cancelled a Test at short notice because Cricket South African President Haroon Lorgat was under a corruption investigation (that was later withdrawn).

The Indians wanted the South African president to stand aside while that investigation was being carried out.

Oh, the irony!

On 26th September 2014, a thirty-strong group of enthusiasts broke the world record for the highest-ever cricket match, played at 5,730m near the summit of Kilimanjaro in the name of helping others.

The teams included former England coach Ashley Giles, former South African cricketer Makhaya Ntini, former England women's captain Clare Connor OBE, and current women's vice-captain Heather Knight.

Dennis speaks to Nishant Joshi, one of the men on that trip, about all things playing cricket on the top of the world.

An amazing story.
