This week, we're joined by Jonathan's son and Canucks superfan, Connell! This season has been nothing short of a whirlwind for Vancouver fans, and we're here to break it all down.
Under the guidance of coach Travis Green, the Canucks have undergone a remarkable transformation. With newfound accountability and unity among the players, they've turned their fortunes around and emerged as true contenders.
But it's not just about the team's mindset – the addition of reliable defensemen and depth at center has been a game-changer. From shutting down opponents to lighting up the scoreboard, these key acquisitions have propelled the Canucks to new heights.
We discuss Quinn Hughes – a standout defenseman who's rewriting the franchise record books. His dazzling performances have left fans in awe and cemented his place as one of the Canucks' all-time greats. With the Pacific Division title in hand, the city is buzzing. But the journey is far from over. As we gear up for the playoffs, the anticipation is palpable. Can the Canucks go all the way and bring home the Stanley Cup? We're keeping our fingers crossed and our hopes high.
But it's not just about the Canucks – the upcoming series against the Nashville Predators promises to be a battle for the ages. With both teams boasting strong players and similar stats, it's anyone's game.
And let's not forget about the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have a chance to make a deep playoff run if they can conquer their mental block against the Boston Bruins. Will this be their year to shine?
Plus, we'll dive into the surprising news of the Arizona Coyotes' relocation to Utah, shaking up the hockey world in unexpected ways.
Remember when Filip Hronek and Dakota Joshua got into a fight at practice? Yeah, it was pretty wild, but it seems they’ve kept it together. Avalanche OT loss definitely hurt a bit. And wtf is this cap system? We like many hate on the Golden Knights use of LTIR.
At the time of this recording the Canucks were 4-5-1 in their last 10. But there was some positives still (at least we beat Boston at home). We still don’t know why Julsen played with Hughes, the Toronto kid shit on a former Leaf and Azzaya goes on a tangent about Pettersson and his contract (prior to signing an extension).
During this recording the league was buzzing, and not at all in a good way. Morgan Reilly goes ballistic on Ridley Greig after a Senators empty net winner against the Leafs. Meanwhile, hot dog man, Phil Kessel nearly made a return to Rutherford and the Canucks.
At the time of this recording, the Canucks were on an Eastern Conference swing road and it sucked to lose to the Bruins! But at least the boys are hitting and playing big! And the bottom 6 were booming. Plus, as usual we were kicking off with a laugh and a kind of cool tease to a prize give away?
On this episode of Canuckle Pucks meet the hosts! Hosted by 604 Records President Jonathan Simkin and his employee/bandwagoner co-host Azzaya Khan.
The subtext to the show, Heartbroken since 1970. Yeah, Canucks fans have had their moments, but it’s felt like over 50 years of suffering. But with the Canucks finally winning again the two jump in on the hype with this podcast!
To kick off, we’ll be recapping parts of the season leading up to what’s been our first winning season in a full 82 game regular season since 2015! (we’re not counting the bubble run, just doesn’t feel right)
Learn more about our f****d up relationship with hockey, and what we thought about the Lindholm trade, did we mortgage our future again!?!?!
