If you want to look for a silver lining from the months of being cooped up during the Covid pandemic, look no further than The Lobster Roller.
During the Covid lockdown, former television news and sports reporter Jessica Moran came to realize that it was time for a change. Inspired by her husband’s career change to lobster fishing, she decided to try her hand at his idea of a lobster roll food truck. Thus, in the summer of 2021, The Lobster Roller made its first appearance as a “food trailer” on the local scene. While the Lobster Roller started small (just in case she didn’t like it), now, in addition to their well-known red Lobster Roller food truck, they also have a brick and mortar take-out storefront in Rockport.
Over the years, their offerings have grown to include more than lobster rolls and clam chowder (hot dogs, grilled cheese, smash burgers, fries and more), and last year they introduced hot buttered lobster rolls in addition to the cold mayo rolls. Which one do you think is most popular? (You have to watch to find out!) Hot off the press - this year look forward to the addition of new lobster roll with a spicy mayo!
The Lobster Roller will return to Stacy Boulevard this summer for lunch, mostly Fridays - Mondays. Make sure you check out their website and social media feeds for their upcoming events, locations, and menus!

In this episode of Cape Ann Conversations, Cindy Hendrickson, owner of Cape Ann Foodie Tours, talks about how she came to own the business and the types of tours being offered.
Cape Ann Foodie Tours are walking culinary and cultural tours of Gloucester. Along the way, their dynamic tour guides will provide the backdrop to this 400-year-old city with great stories and interesting facts about the oldest working seaport in America. On their most filling tour, Taste Gloucester, guests will walk through downtown Gloucester sampling food from five or six local vendors during this award-winning foodie tour. From delicious local chowder, and authentic Italian cannoli, to a sandwich that Gloucester natives have enjoyed for decades. This tour will expose you to local treats you’d be hard-pressed to discover on your own. There will be no room for lunch after this tour as they make sure you leave “full” of knowledge!
In addition to the walking tour, they also offer customized corporate and group tours, as well as Land & Sea Tours.

Chris Moore, Director, Crane Estate, invites you to experience this magnificent 2,100-acre coastal estate where past meets present. Four miles of Atlantic-facing Crane Beach flank the quiet, tidal waters of Essex Bay and the Crane Wildlife Refuge. With a rich past of fishing and farming, Castle Hill was transformed into a European-style country estate in the early 1900s. Chicago industrialist Richard T. Crane, Jr. first purchased the land that would become The Crane Estate in 1910. Crane was captivated by the beautiful landscape, and over the next two decades worked with some of America's leading architects and landscape architects to shape his summer retreat, sited with hilltop vistas of the Atlantic in an area of the property known as Castle Hill.
Today, educational and recreational programming runs throughout the year with kayaking, hiking, summer camps, great house tours and events, and the ever-popular summer concerts on Thursday evenings.
