In this episode of the 1Dime Radio podcast, we explore CASP: Capital As Power. A relatively new heterodox theoretical framework of political economy that takes a lot from Veblen school of economics, Marxian Economics, and anarchist ideas and makes it's own unique contributions that question the assumptions of neoclassical economics, Keynesian economics, and Marxist economics. I am joined by my friend DenimGod, who is a graduate student of economics at the New School and specializing in CASP.

Capital as Power was invented by Jonathan Nitzan and Shimshon Bichler in their book "Capital as Power: A Study of Order and Creorder." The Guest gives a synopsis of CASP and how it can help us understand economic phenomenon such as stagflation, austerity, and why capitalists paradoxically advocate for policies that lead to lower economic growth.
