When Christ walked with Cleopas and the other disciple, He expounded the Word to help them understand the Resurrection. The Word of God holds utmost importance in our lives.

The tomb is empty. Angels rolled back the stone so we could see it was empty. He rose for our justification.

When Jesus said -It is Finished,- He meant it.

He was mocked by everyone there- yet the Lord Jesus asked the Father to forgive them. They were blasphemous, and God had every right to pour out His wrath...and He did pour out His wrath--onto Jesus.

While Jesus would have been considered a failure on His way to the Cross, He was still in control. He stumbled at just the right place, and we now have the Gospel in the furthest places of the planet because of the man that helped carry the cross.

He took my guilt so that I could be made innocent. Condemned to death so I could have life.

Pilate and Herod often get the bad-rap about their part in the trial of Christ. But as true as their parts were, it is ultimately God that controls the moves the hearts of kings.

Judas betrayed. Peter denied. But God gives second chances.
