Capitalism and the Human Condition 

Mask War Update:

I was standing in line at the Sam’s Knob lift w/ a good friend called Mike last Friday w/ one of my balaclavas on, which only covers my mouth. I can pull it up over my nose but it inevitably slips down off of my nose within about a minute. Some woman was 8’-10’ in front of us standing to my right w/ her ski instructor to her left. She looks back at me and Mike, whose nose was also showing, and snarled… “could I ask you to pull your masks up over your noses?” I said “sure…you can ask us anything.”

See, it turns out she wasn’t actually ASKING diddly squat. She was demanding, and the way she implored it kind of pissed both of us off. So we…that’s Mike and I…. proceeded to discuss the efficacy of masks w/ each other in a way she could easily hear. Because we were outside, I reminded Mike that the virus dies in direct sunlight within 30 seconds (probably less at altitude), and that according to the venerable WSJ, masks reduce Covid infections by a mere 2%...not 98%... but 2%. Then our conversation naturally turned virtue signaling, which of course is what motivates most masketeers to mask-up in the first place, and then proceed to scold the rest of us rapscallion-scofflaws for not following their rules.

Again, had she been a little nicer about it, I would have happily complied. But instead, she chose to bark at us…which didn’t sit well.

I think I mentioned she might consider going back to NJ or wherever she crawled here from. After a huff and a puff, she moved about 12’-14’ away. Not far enough lady!! Not far enough at all!

Our oldest daughter lives with us, and got a Covid test 2 weeks ago tomorrow. She was positive. Her fiancé also got sick. But Lori and I were and have been fine. ZERO symptoms!

Which of course brings me to the vaccines. As you all know, I am 99.999% certain that I have been vaccinated as part of the Moderna 1273-P301 trial. And my wife clearly has Covid antibodoies. So my question is a simple one to wit: why do we need to wear masks at all, and when May and June roll around …and nearly half the population HAS been vaccinated…. will we all be required to virtue signal like the nasty fusspot in the lift line demanded?

In other words, when will the masking-up end and how?

Which of course, brings me to a business opportunity. Shouldn’t the vaccinated be given a bunch of stickers, or some pins to wear, to inform the world they are safe from Covid?? Kind of like the “I Voted” stickers people wear around election day? Something to think about for you young entrepreneurs out there.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned the possibility of Creepy Joe Biden recalling the vaccines for further safety studies. Understand folks that when the vaccines hit the market in a large way, they will end the lockdowns. These miserable blue-state governors and mayors who have become household names, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the newfound powers they have ascribed to themselves. Therefore, the vaccines represent a threat to their power.

Here’s a scenario I can easily envision playing out: If you listened to our podcast wherein I discussed my robust immune response to my vaccine injections, I will just remind you; it was no walk in the park. I was pretty sick for about 36 hours after the second shot.  

Now, try to visualize a 95-year old gray,… sick, …emphysema patient laying in his nursing home bed, sucking on oxygen. The poor guy has 1 foot in the grave, and the other foot on a banana peel. Some nurse comes along to give this guy his second jab, and the next day he dies from his own intense immune...
