Do you realize that when you get on your knees to pray you are actually going into battle?

Ephesians 6:12 tells us:
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Because of this constant struggle, praying effectively is vital.

Nearly three dozen pastors responded to the call to recruit men to teach the Bible to local political leaders after learning about our Local Government Ministries initiative and mission at a recent Independent Baptist conference.

“We had great interaction with local pastors and shared the vision and purpose of Capitol Ministries to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political realm of the world,” said Dr. Dan DeShong, CapMin’s Global Local Government Ministries (LGM) Director.

“The mission of Capitol Ministries was so very new and inspiring to many of the pastors who were hearing about it for the first time.” Listen on...

Established ministry leaders and newly recruited ministry candidates from 14 nations are meeting this week at Capitol Ministries’ very first Latin America Training and Recruiting Conference.

The men, some of whom are attending with their ministry partner wives, are traveling from the Americas to learn more about establishing and sustaining discipleship ministries to political leaders from local governments to parliaments in their home countries.

“Please ask the Lord that what God begins in Panama City will have wings to the political leaders in all the nations of Latin America.”

A Capitol Ministries team has been invited to share the vision of our Local Government Ministries with pastors who are gathering in southern California for the “Not Ashamed of Christ” Spiritual Leadership Conference.

“We are praying that LGM will be a refreshing ministry for these pastors. Across our nation pastors are becoming dismayed at the great divide in our country and how weak the church has become. Many are expressing concern about teaching the whole gospel. We pray that this ministry will offer the spark they need to light a fire in their hearts.”

Before examining pertinent passages in answer to the question - Is God Judging
America Today? - it is important to first understand God’s attribute of judgment and the biblical forms wherein it manifests itself. The question can then be asked as to which forms of judgment apply to America.
