How specifically can the Scriptures help you after the rigors of campaigning and the adjustments you need to make after months of always-on-the-go, necessarily imbalanced living?

Let’s turn to Proverbs and contemplate the sobriety of King Solomon and what he has to say about a sense of normal living—one that garners His blessing, spiritual, mental and physical health, and meaningful relationships. Sound good? This is an important study for someone who is always on the go; certainly that was the case by the one who penned the following Proverbs that we will be studying.

How do you respond to tribulation in your personal life? Does Scripture inform your mind and emotions when you are faced with seeming setbacks? Are you able to control your emotions with your mind? Is your mind permeated with Scripture so as to be able to combat the fleshly responses of our inner person? This week I would like to explore one particular passage in the book of Ephesians that can greatly aid you when you are faced with trials and tribulation.

Many people today do not believe in the total depravity of man; Scripture is clear that man is fallen. In fact, God ordained the institution of government primarily to restrain the latent sin nature of man: that’s the primary reason government exists! To believe the opposite—that man is basically good—is to reject Scriptural truth.

This week I would like to dig into one of the most important passages in the entire Bible. It will lend great light on the historic arguments regarding the doctrine of salvation: is justification from one’s sin accomplished by faith alone or is something needed in addition? This has been a controversial subject throughout Church history, and it remains so today. What do you believe regarding how one is saved and why?

Consider whether there is a biblical basis or calling to minister to political leaders. If so, how important is this in the mind of God? I think you may be in for a surprise.
