Julian has been a fixture of the Virgin Islands since the 1970s, when the Virgin islands were the best-kept secret in the sailing world. Now they are the playground of all types of sailor and water warriors, and he's at home amongst them. He is an author of some very funny books, a columnist for All at Sea magazine, an in-demand charter skipper, sailing instructor, family man and community stalwart. The nicest man in the islands.

Following his adventures as described in #111 (Pt 1), we follow James as he island-hops across the Pacific. 

In October, 2018, James began a grown-up Gap Year. He flew to Greece from Brisbane, Australia, to buy a boat and sail around the world. Or back home, anyway. So began a fantastic voyage with his wife and their two sons participating as well. Adventures, joys, pleasures, Pacific islands, South American sojourns, the trip had it all. What does it have to do with bareboats in the Caribbean? Well, the boat he bought was a 14-year-old bareboat charter yacht. And he sailed it through the Caribbean! It was a real pleasure talking to a man who had the trip of a lifetime that went according to his (admittedly vague) plan.  He had nothing but good times. Now he's home, back in his life. But perhaps...dreaming? This is the first of 2 episodes.
