  • 74: Milk & Bone

Milk & Bone is a new music project and are one of the coolest Electronic-Pop bands I’ve heard in a while. Today I have the pleasure of talking to Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin. They talk with your host Sean Chin about receiving over 1,000,000 plays on SoundCloud, making music videos, parental influences, crazy nights at SXSW, and what they learned about each other while making Little Mourning.

After a two week hiatus, we’re back! Sean Chin‘s house got broken into and he got robbed of his camera gear. It sucks. But that’s life. And we move on. Fortunately, the team at LiL pushes forward! Our social media and content editor Katrina Wong Shue got a chance to sit down with Jeph Howard of The Used when they came through Toronto. He talked about dealing with record labels, business model issues with Spotify, diversifying set lists for each show, and tweaking song instrumentals on stage.

Hello good people of the interwebz. This week Sean Chin and Andreas Babiolakis are once again joined by Mary-Anne Wiltshire. It’s a packed episode but very fun. We talk about Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31, Zayn Malik being fired from One Direction, the roast of Justin Bieber, the Walking Dead finale, and our thoughts on Jay Z’s new hifi music streaming service Tidal. And apparently Taylor Swift is the 6th greatest leader in the world. We’re cool with that.

On this episode Sean Chin, Andreas Babiolakis, and Dakota Arsenault talk the Apple Watch, new MacBook, and who is getting what. 2015 looks to be a very promising year for music with the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Kendrick Lamar, Chromatics, Tame Impala, Kanye West, Blur and possibly new Radiohead just to name a few. And most importantly, we discuss what the $7.4 million USD verdict against Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams’ “Blurred Lines” means for the rest of the music industry.
