Captain Avalanche Fancast

Today our hosts attempt to record an episode while watching the hated Dallas Stars score 5 unanswered goals on Edmonton. In between moments of suffering they discuss whether upcoming Avs free agents should stay or go and who is next on the 2C carousel. Its a wild ride from beginning to end.

Today we learn a lot. We learn all about the draft lottery and its many mysteries and intricacies. We learn why Dom hates the Knights and why Cory hates... well everyone in the west who isn't Colorado. We also learn of Mason Marchment's Colorado connection. In The Tank With Dom also makes a glorious return!

The Colorado Avalanches season has come to an unceremonious and heart wrenching end. No one thought or wanted it to come out this way. But it turns out we were helping write someone else's story.

Next week we'll either be talking about the Avalanche and not about the Dallas Stars or we won't be talking about the Avalanche and we really hope that isn't the case. Either way, we have to win game 6 before we can win game 7. Oh yeah, some other playoff stuff happened too.

Gabe Landeskog has returned to the ice for the first time since hoisting lord Stanley's Cup and he is hopefully here to lead the Avs to the promised land for the 2nd time. It was a truly glorious moment to witness and despite the game result not being what we wanted. The memory of him stepping onto the ice after going through so much will last a lifetime.

Today our hosts endeavor to make their picks for who will walk away with hockey's ultimate prize at the conclusion of these playoffs. You probably already know the answer but how they get there is the real fun. Trial and tribulation abound for our daring hosts as indecision threatens to stunt their logic and reasoning.

Gabriel Landeskog is rapidly closing in on a return and now, even when the Avalanche are injured, they can't stop scoring goals. Evidently neither can the Sharks or Wild as Dom reacts to this one live. We break down every goal the Avs scored this week and breakdown over the fact that the Captain will soon return.

The Avalanche don't always lose, but when they do we have to talk about it in excruciating detail here on the Captain Avalanche Fancast. As we close in on the Playoffs, we reflect on which teams are, could, and should make it to the big dance. There's probably even more chaos than usual in this episode.

Dom caught Cory doing WHAT?! What goal made Cory erect? Whose birthday is it? The answers to these questions and more on this weeks episode! We also forgot to mention that the Avalanche have not lost in Ball Arena in two months. That's not hyperbole, that's fact.

Everything was perfect until Kelly Sutherland fell in Scotiabank Arena. The Avs had a 9 game point streak heading into their tilt in Toronto. But the Hockey Gods often have other plans than what were expecting. But lots to be happy about and little to be sad about.
