I discuss how the conflict does not work in The Last Jedi. It never establishes the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. It instead builds in fighting. This leads to the feeling of not having anyone to root for and thus fails.

I discuss the failure in destroying Kylo Ren's mask in The Last Jedi. There was so much more meaning that could have been giving to the helmet and this character. Rian killed that like he tried to do with the past.

This discusses the scene where DJ basically preaches to the audience and Finn about the "truths" of Star Wars. Those "truths" may not be as true as Rian makes them out to be.

This looks into greek mythology and the greek teaching on tragedy. The way Aristotle laid out for it to be done. I discuss whether The Last Jedi fit this or not.

I look into the humor of The Last Jedi and why it seems so off. I compare it to prior Star Wars movies and discuss how it is more like Marvel now than Star Wars when it comes to humor.

This looks into why the comparison to Emperor Palpatine and Supreme Leader Snoke falls short. You cannot compare the two and their time and information in each trilogy.

This is an in depth look into Rey's key moment on Ahch-To and why it doesn't work.

This breaks down the audience perception and how it effects our experience in a movie. I discuss the types of perception we have and why. Who we connect to and follow in a scene dictates how the story is revealed to us. Messing this up is a big reason why Canto Bight is so hated by many.

Many have tried to draw comparisons to Empire Strikes Back. I completely disagree with all of the comparisons I've heard so far. I did though find that The Last Jedi follows the story beats almost exactly. This of course is a pathetic and terrible copy but a copy none the less.

This is a response to articles from Nerdist and Den of Geek on the toxic masculinity of Poe Dameron. They discuss how he is the villain and go as far as to say he deserves to be imprisoned or even killed! This is absurd and I break down Poe's character and how this does not work in any way.
