Card Casters - A Card Game Design Podcast

Today we discuss the "tabletop novel" solo strategy card game, Spell Saga. The game's designer, Todd Michael Rogers takes us through the game's long 10 year history to get to the table, from early inception to rocky Kickstarter campaigns and crossing the finish line. The game's unique storytelling solo gameplay makes it a worthwhile study for designers looking for new ways to approach strategy card design.

We are joined by video game industry veteran and board game creator Orion McClelland to talk about video games influencing card game design, especially Richard Garfield's Artifact, and other MOBA-influenced card and board games, such as Orion's own Ark Worlds.
