The ancient Astrologers were looking for “Portends” or “Omens” in the sky long before they were looking at a horoscopes of an individual. The system of mathematical points derived from the position of the planets called Hermetic “Lots”  or Later called “Parts” came out of that earlier divinatory system.

The idea of casting lots to see what the gods had to say about a situation or events found it’s way into the horoscope. The one that most often is included in a chart is the “Part (LOT) of Fortune” We will explore how its is being used today.
