Not up par.

Would not recommend this book. It's trite and slow moving. Definitly not up to the Delinsky standard. Most of the time I will buy her books just because her name is on the cover. Wasted my money this time.

Best Barbara Delinsky book!

In my opinion this is the best Barbara Delinsky book. I can not tell you how much I love it and keep re reading it, but I will try.

SPOILERS AHEAD--- BEWARE---STOP NOW IF YOU DON"T LIKE SPOILERS---THANKS

First, hero was smitten by heroine from the instant he saw her. He was a former player with "Cardinal Rules" and had been warned by his bff to stay away from heroine before they even met. Heroine was bff's employee. But hero was not going to let anyone stand in his way once he met heroine, not even the heroine!!! I loved how he pursues her, courts her and finally wins her over. I especially love the fact he did not try seduce her, but worked to fully win her over for life!

Second, I love how heroine over comes her fears. She had s%&! life. She saw things that really affected her. She repressed herself so she could be the opposite of her parents. Unfortunatly, in doing so she was missing out on life. Sure she had a successful career and she took very well care of herself physically. but life was passing her by and she did not even know it. What she did not plan was having a determined hero break her out of her shell to try and claim he heart!

Third, love the reformed rake hero type books. He was also fun character. He loved to play, but he did work hard. He was always joking around and trying get heroine to smile more. I love the small token of things he did to get her attention and get her to lighten up. He showed her what she was missing. There was some very touching moments but then there was some very heated moments. I loved how his playful personality mellowed heroine's serious one.

Fourth, I loved story line. You have a shy, serious-type, smart, and introvert heroine on one hand. A playful, goofy, clumsy, sexy, smitten hero on the other hand. Together they were such as great couple. I loved to read how she grew as a person and allowed herself to be loved and fall in love with someone. Her fears are real. She feared hurting others, especially any kids she had, if she did not make right decision to trust someone with her heart. So her fears were real and understandable. The ending was very well done. I think it was a brilliant plan hero executed to get heroine to finally let go of her final reservations and accept their love. I would highly recommend this sweet, emotional read. It is a safe read. Hero was heroine's first. No OW or OM. Great book from start to finish.
