We meet Christine Akon, a program manager in Women Empowerment Center in South Sudan (WECSS), under the Strengthening Women's Movement (SWoMo). The SWoMo project is working to empower women through education, healthcare access, and challenging harmful traditions. The SWoMo project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation & Development (Germany) (BMZ) across the 3 CARE networks; CARE Egypt, CARE Iraq, and CARE South Sudan. In South Sudan, CARE partners with three organizations namely the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), Women Agency for Progress Organisation (WAPO), and WECSS - which are national non-profit organizations working for justice, gender equality, peace, health, economic justice, human dignity, and democracy

Despite rising challenges like harmful traditional gender norms, Christine shares stories of transformation, the importance of collaboration to achieve lasting change, and her hopes for a national transformation that empowers women and girls to achieve their dreams.
