So many are afraid of being job hoppers, but being a job holder for so many years doesn’t make you a hero, especially when a job is not serving you. When you stay in a job because of the pay or are afraid to hop, you get hurt. Don’t break your neck in a job that you don’t enjoy because of fear. It’s not worth it! Staying in a company for so long not only dries your skillset, stagnates your income, and lowers your ability to look for opportunities but also makes the company feel like they are your only option.

They get stuck and don’t advance. There is no one way or path to advancing your career, but whatever strategy is used, it should be done on your terms. However, so many of us take too long to advocate for ourselves that by the time we realize it, we are exhausted and burned out from spending so much time overworking ourselves and still in the same place. Career advancement is all about advocating for yourself, not overworking to prove yourself. So many overwork themselves because they do not understand their role in your company's success. Second-guessing yourself, not trusting your skillset, and putting unnecessary pressure on yourself will set you back so far.
