About Laura
Laura Suttin is a family physician, a certified coach, a consultant, an author, a speaker, and an entrepreneur. She completed her medical training at the McGovern Medical
School in Houston and her residency at the Christus Spohn Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. Her first book, The Purposeful MD-Creating the Life You Love Without Guilt, was published in October 2024.
Dr. Suttin began working with a coach over 10 years ago, and found it so life-changing that she became a coach herself. She launched Purposeful MD in 2021, with the mission of empowering physicians and other medical professionals to create the lives they love without guilt. In her spare time, she enjoys running, triathlon, travel, and glamping with her family in their travel trailer.

About Ruth
Ruth Adell, DO, MBA grew up in Burleson, TX and earned her medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She completed her residency at the Waco Family Medicine Institute. She is bored-certified in Family Medicine. She moved back to Burleson in 2018 after her father developed dementia. She stumble upon WellMed and USMD and began practicing in her hometown. She currently serves as a medical director, helping to support clinics in North Texas. She loves canning, gardening and making jewelry.

About Carol
Carol Bertsch is an elder law attorney serving San Antonio and the surrounding communities. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1992. Since opening her practice in 1996, Carol has been a champion of the elderly and disabled – she even makes “house calls” to those unable to get out so they can receive the full benefit of legal counsel. First and foremost, she treats clients with the dignity and respect they deserve, always appreciative of the wonderful tapestry woven by their life experiences. With patience and understanding, she helps her clients plan for the challenges of aging.

About Bob Blancato
Robert “Bob” Blancato is the president of Matz, Blancato & Associates in Washington, DC.
In that capacity, he serves as the Executive Director of the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs, National Coordinator of the Elder Justice Coalition, and the National Coordinator for Defeat Malnutrition Today coalition.
Bob’s prior work includes more than 20 years of public service including 17 years as a senior staffer in the House of Representatives. He was appointed by President Clinton to serve as the Executive Director of the 1995 White House Conference on Aging, one of four he has participated in. Bob is a member of Senior Executive Service.
Bob is recognized as a national policy advocate for older adults, and has testified on numerous occasions before Senate and House Committees, most recently in 2022 before the House Appropriations Labor-HHS Education Subcommittee.
As a volunteer, he currently serves as the second vice chair on the AARP Board of Directors, and is a member of the AARP Foundation Board. He serves on the National Hispanic Council on Aging Board, and has previously served as the chair of the American Society on Aging and on the board of the National Council on Aging. Bob has been appointed to several federal advisory commissions, most recently the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services.
Bob was inducted into the American Society of Aging’s hall of fame in 2022. In 2023, he was awarded Generations United’s highest advocacy award.
