  • Ska Nation 360 with Mr. Dancing Feet, Alphonso Castro
Teenage Dance Party was a showcase for all the latest music being produced by Jamaican artists, but make no mistake, it was the showcase for the dancing feet of Alphonso Castro. He even had a favorite dance partner, Cecile. Together it was more a showboat than a showcase and together they won many contests. Now, life has taken on a new meaning for Castro as he shares his memories of those early years and the music he danced to.

  • The Love Doctor Saturday Selections of Lovers Rock Reggae
    Lovers
    Remembering those days spent together,
The times we had ingrained in memory forever.
Dinners eaten while looking into each other's eyes,
Out at the wharf oblivious to the buzzing flies.
Wiping each other's lips with flimsy napkins,
The way we called each other sweet Pumpkins.
Those hot nights when we showered together,
Scrubbing each other's backs so soft and tender.
Water cascading over us as we felt passion,
Making love in all forms and multiple fashion.
Us and we were our vernacular so sweet,
Our love was obvious to all whom we did meet.
Just to lock eyes was a flame ignited to high heat,
Long hours in bed caressing head to feet.
No area was safe from spontaneous eruption,
Love's volcanoes in our groins, primed for disruption.
Ever ready was our bodies for our union,
Melding together in passion was no confusion.
When did that raw understanding dissolve,
A question we both ask now, seeking solutions to solve.
Maybe we are thinking too hard and cerebral,
Just get back to raw emotions of rhythm and conjugal.

  • Ska Now and Then Special artist, special songs, special memories.
Since starting Ska Now and Then (SNAT) host Freddie Campbell has travelled (and I use the word losely) the world to find ska music as played by musicians from many lands. He has shared time with many of his fellow musicians that he has known from the fifties and sixties. Today's show see him sharing memories of his alma mater with an old boy that was born just about the time he was leaving school. It is amazing how similar the experience of the two worlds.  Mr.Chaplin has gone on to massive achievements, making us all very proud. He will also play (belatedly) a request of last week's guest Mr. Clyde McKemzie OD, for an Ernie Ranglin tune. The host Freddie, is expecting a few other old boys to call in making things a "jump up" Party.  He will also have Jay Sharpe speaking on "Grief to Gratitude" If you are experiencing a catastrophic event in your life, or know of a friend having same, then Miss Sharpe is a must listen. All about things you need to do to overcome and persevere.
