Attention Crs Family ! A friend of mind was telling me about this guy Mr JOE GRIND and how important he is in our community ...Its the first time that I was hearing about him. I looked in every directory but I have not made and significant connection. Does anyone know of Mr .JOE GRIND? Would love to interview him.

This is our culture and this is some of the things we remember: We can be humorous, and we can be serious.. We can tek Quarrell and mek it joke, but some serious talk a go gwaan with information.. So we will be talking about this very important person in our past History and possibly still exists today in our culture.

The positives and the negatives, but mostly the humour..

So Call in and share your Joe Grind Story and help us figure out who this person is.. Just maybe we can get Joe Grind to call in as well.. LOL..

My mama always used to tell me: ‘If you can’t find somethin’ to live for, you best find somethin’ to die for.’ – Tupac Shakur

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender. – Tupac Shakur

I‘m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world. – Tupac Shakur

This fast life soon shatters, cause after all the lights and screams, nothing but my dreams matter. – Tupac Shakur

The seed must grow regardless of the fact that it’s planted in stone. – Tupac Shakur

Behind every sweet smile, there is a bitter sadness that no one can see and feel. – Tupac Shakur

We was young and we was dumb, but we had heart. – Tupac Shakur

Let the Music Play

Barry White

One ticket, please

Lord have mercy, everybody's there

Hey, what's goin' on man, yeah

She's at home, yeah, she's at home

Yeah, she's at home

Let the music play

I just want to dance the night away

Here, right here, right here is where I'm gonna stay

All night long, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, wee

Let the music play on

Just until I feel this misery is gone

Movin', kickin', groovin', keep the music strong

On and on and on and on and on and on and on

And on and on and on and on and on and on and on

I'm out here dancin' and still, huh

I can't erase the things I feel

The tender love we used to share

Sparrow was born in the fishing village of Grand Roy, Grenada, on July 9, 1935. He moved to Trinidad with his mother, his father having relocated there in 1937, and grew up in Port of Spain. His songs such as Jean and Dinah, May May, Sa Sa Yea, Unity, Melda O, Jail, Pay as You Earn 'PAYE', Age is Just a Number, Drunk and Disorderly, Wanted Dead or Alive, Human Rights, Sexy Marajhin, Capitalism Gone Mad, The Lizard, The More the Merrier, and countless others, are just some of his best known and best praised songs. His songs have put him in the spotlight and earned him worldwide recognition. He is still a prolific performer today, and shows no sign of stopping. The Mighty Sparrow has a string of credits to his name. Chief of the Yorubas, which means "Chief Omo Wale of Ikoy" as he is known throughout Nigeria, and in New York, the late Mayor Ed Koch proclaimed March 18 the Mighty Sparrow Day. With honourary doctorate degrees, doctor of letters from the University of the West Indies, he was inducted into the Sunshine Awards Calypso and Steelband Music Hall of Fame on June 24. Then Brooklyn borough president, Howard Folder, proclaimed June 24, Mighty Sparrow Day. We can take some beauty lessons from him too, especially when it comes to keeping his great smile. His face is still instantly recognizable by multiple generations of fans. The man is a fashion icon and trendsetter within the calypso and soca music industry. There should be a musical about his life; let's hope that someone will produce it soon. Dr Slinger Francisco, the legendary Mighty Sparrow, or as he is fondly known "Birdie", a West Indian calypso icon, celebrates his 81st birthday on Saturday.
