The Heart Alert Program at Carilion Clinic manages patients with heart attacks. Since 2004, the cardiac services team has worked with field providers and emergency teams to identify patients with a STEMI, so they can be evaluated and treated quickly.

Leslie Loving is a nurse practitioner and the Thoracic Oncology Coordinator at Carilion Clinic. Leslie is the single point of contact for patients and physicians to ensure successful and effective treatment for patients.

CyberKnife is a form of radiation therapy, more specifically a focused beam of radiation to an area that would be difficult or dangerous to reach otherwise. The technology allows Carilion Clinic surgeons to remove parts of a tumor that might not have been removed with just surgery.

Carilion Clinic is making strides to advance the way we treat osteoporotic conditions. We are working together to evaluate, treat, and manage the patient. Our goal is to use procedures, like a kyphoplasty, to help keep patients mobile.

Shayna Haga is a registered nurse and VAD Coordinator at Carilion Clinic. Shana coordinates aspects of care, educates patients on devices, and is a point of contact for VAD patients.

Carilion Clinic divides patients into two classes after failing routine medical management for congestive heart failure. The first is patients who are acutely failing with carcinogenic shock. We are able to treat them with an acute salvage maneuver. The second is outpatient chronic congestive heart failure patients. We treat these as well with the latest technologies and procedures.

The neurosurgery team at Carilion Clinic is comprised of six surgeons working together on all patients and cases. We recognize it is impossible for one person to keep up with all the latest procedures and technologies, so we take a team approach to provide multiple sets of eyes and minds and to give the patient the best possible outcome.
