David Rosenthal, DO, PhD, medical director for Northwell's LGBTQ Transgender Health Program, and Amy West, MD, EdM, FAAPMR, specialist in sports medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation, discuss the importance of delivering specialized medical care for transgender patients, including athletes, as well as their roles in creating medical curricula for this patient population.
