Read full transcript:
Hi everyone, Carl Gould here with your #70secondCEO. Just a little over a one minute investment every day for a lifetime of results.
If you were to ask just about anybody like you know, what’s the better watch, a Rolex or a Casio? You know most people would automatically say Rolex and you know what’s the difference between the two at the end of the day and then you’ll be hard pressed. I read this great article about how--why watches are expensive and you know they say that the materials like go into a watch are pretty similar, and they say well, the handcrafted one’s tend to be more expensive, the ones that are more automated in their construction tend to be less expensive and I thought well now isn’t that interesting? So, if I get less efficient, I take a lot longer to fulfill the order and I use really old and archaic methods, I’ll be worth a lot more cause essentially that’s the--what the watch business has done and those--but they message it better oh it’s handcrafted, it’s artisan, it’s master crafted. I'm like sounds like slow and inefficient to me but okay I get it, right. But they’ve done a tremendous job of messaging themselves and creating the branding so they have you know--you have to really understand who your customer is and you have to sell directly to what those desires are.
