You may have heard that Brazil’s new President-Elect Jair Messias Bolsonaro is a “far-right” – or even “alt-right” – threat to Latin America, or that he is a sexist, misogynist, homophobe, transphobe, racist authoritarian, or that he is “literally Hitler” (much like President Donald Trump, some people would say). But is all this true? In this episode of Carlos Has an Opinion, Carlos will tell you what is actually happening – you know, in the real world, why Bolsonaro got elected against all odds, and try to somewhat explain the politics in the country that has a fame of “not being for amateurs”. Inspired by Oprah’s speech in a room full of powerful and rich men and women where they congratulated themselves for being so talented and great, Carlos comes back from his holidays to share his truth on the Same-Sex Marriage postal survey that happened in Australia recently. He shares his vote, why he voted that way, and what he thinks about the Government interfering in people’s marriages and freedoms. After a few weeks away, Carlos is finally back with a new home and better Internet, which is a lot to be thankful for. In this episode Carlos talks about the crazy sexual harassment and abuse allegations that are reaching all sorts of people, from Hollywood to politicians, and even male feminist journalists. Carlos also talks about how not to make your uncle President Donald Trump angry on Thanksgiving (hint: thank him from saving you from prison in China).

I start by introducing the hate speech vs hate and harassment topic, followed by a conversation with Chris (from Yours Truly, Chris YouTube channel) about his experience being harassed on YouTube. We discuss “hate speech”, threats, and harassment on social media, and look at YouTube’s Community Guidelines and their definition of hate speech, and how impossible it is to draw a line and define “hate speech”. We share our opinions on what is hate speech, freedom of speech, harassment, hate, and how companies like YouTube deal with it.

I start by telling a story of when I was a teenager in Brazil and believed I was helping people by fighting for free public transport. I then elaborate on the fallacy constantly perpetuated by the left that capitalism is evil, and the whoever likes capitalism just don’t care for the poor people. I briefly show examples of how capitalism has the better solution to common problems pointed out by leftists, and discuss the idea that most of us want to solve the same problems, but just have different solutions to them. I end by talking about positive stories of heroism from the horrific Las Vegas shooting incident.

I start by talking about Candace Owens from the YouTube channel Red Pill Black, how she became a conservative, and how she grew fast on YouTube after she made a video about the Charlottesville situation. I talk about my white privilege of being able to think what I want, while black people are pressured by the left to think only the way they want, plus discuss how the media tried to destroy Candace’s life and other things they do that make me hate them.

In this episode I talk about why I think we are stuck in 1984, and give some real life examples to make my point. Including how stupid the term “hate speech” is, how the left is siding with tyrannic governments such as North Korea, Iran, and Venezuela just because they attacked Trump, how the media sometimes portrays things exactly the opposite as they are, and how institutions (such as Planned Parenthood) have a name that means exactly the opposite of what they stand for. I also talk a lot about North Korea, and Donald Trump’s speech at the UN this week.
