Carman's Crypt: Season 2, Episode 42 - "Small Hands, Hollow Eyes"

After years of fertility struggles, Jess's family finally gets the baby they've been dreaming of through adoption. Six-month-old Elliot seems perfect - too perfect. With his mesmerizing violet eyes and unnaturally calm demeanor, he's everything they could have hoped for. But when Elliot begins mimicking voices with impossible accuracy and their family dog starts cowering in terror, Jess realizes their miracle baby might be something far more sinister.

As strange whispers echo from the nursery and shadows begin moving on their own, Jess discovers the horrifying truth about the Hollow Ones - ancient creatures that prey on families desperate for love. With her stepfather Jim and mother finally getting the family they always wanted, will anyone believe Jess when she insists their perfect baby is actually a doorway for something unspeakable?

Sometimes the thing you want most comes with a price you never imagined paying.

In this chilling episode of Carman's Crypt, we explore the dark boundaries of medical ethics and family love through "The Donor" - a story that asks how far parents will go to save one child, even if it means sacrificing another.

Seventeen-year-old Clover has spent her entire life in the shadow of her chronically ill sister Rose, believing her purpose was simply to care for her sibling. But when Rose's kidneys begin to fail, Clover discovers the horrifying truth: she was genetically engineered from birth to be Rose's perfect organ donor. Her entire existence - her isolated upbringing, her medical appointments, even her carefully controlled environment - was designed to keep her healthy until the day she would be harvested.

As the family doctor arrives with surgical instruments and a syringe, Clover must confront the reality that her parents never saw her as a daughter, but as spare parts. In a kitchen that has been her world for seventeen years, she faces the ultimate question: what does it mean to be human when you were created to be consumed?

This story delves into the ethical nightmare of "designer babies" and therapeutic siblings, examining the thin line between love and ownership, sacrifice and murder. It's a tale that will leave you questioning the nature of identity, the meaning of family, and the price we're willing to pay for survival.

Warning: This episode contains themes of medical horror, familial abuse, and planned murder. Listener discretion is advised.

When marine biologist Dr. Lysander Kovac secures funding for humanity's deepest ocean dive, his research team descends 35,000 feet into an unexplored trench where no human has ever ventured. Dr. Thessaly Campos an extremophile specialist haunted by her obsession with life's limits, joins veteran submarine pilot Caspian Webb and xenoarchaeologist Dr. Octavia Rodriguez on what should be a routine scientific expedition.

But the crushing depths hold more than ancient geology. The team discovers vast bioluminescent cities inhabited by an intelligent species that has ruled the ocean's abyss for millions of years. These pale, elongated humanoids possess sophisticated technology, complex language, and a territorial fury undisturbed since the planet's formation.

When the creatures mount a coordinated assault on the submersible, the team realizes they've awakened something ancient and malevolent. As their vessel is systematically destroyed during a nightmarish ascent to the surface, the survivors watch in horror as the deep dwellers adapt their physiology in real-time, preparing not just to follow them to the surface, but to invade it.

What begins as humanity's greatest scientific discovery becomes a fight for survival against an intelligence older than civilization itself. But even death won't end the terror, as the creatures use their final moments to study human anatomy, technology, and weaknesses—preparing for a war that will bring the abyss to the surface world.

Some depths should never be explored. Some sleeping giants should never be awakened. And some discoveries herald not scientific triumph, but the end of human dominion over Earth.

A tale of deep-sea terror that will leave you questioning what really lurks in the unexplored depths of our own planet.
