Want to watch a groundbreaking piece of art and honor an icon who ultimately didn't have the career she deserved?  Then Carmen Jones is the movie/opera/musical for you!  This film, made in 1954, is a contemporary re-telling of Bizet's opera Carmen and features an all black cast.  Besides a star-making performance from Dorothy Dandridge this movie/opera/musical also includes excellent performances from Harry Belafonte and Pearl Bailey.  Otto Preminger directs and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II set to Bizet's music.  Sara Greenfield and her guest Ashley Blanchet chat about all this and more on this week's episode of Talk Classic To Me.
