    After Hurricane Dorian hit the N.C. coast, some UNC students had the safety of their families on their minds. Some students were evacuated from the Institute of Marine Sciences in the Outer Banks. It's been seven years since UNC student Faith Hedgepeth was found dead in her apartment, and the crime remains unsolved. UNC has begun looking for a new chancellor. Mack Brown begins a new football tradition on campus. A lost emu has been roaming Orange and Chatham counties.

UNC responds after police failed to arrest a Confederate protester who carried a gun on campus. The Durham-Orange light rail project is dead, leaving questions about what's next for mass transit. Some UNC students get kicked out of their homes because of a town ordinance many aren't aware of. One Carolina Connection reporter traveled to Colombia as millions of migrants from Venezuela immigrate to the country. UNC's men's basketball season ends with an upset loss to Auburn. Some students fight back against toxic social media ... with the help of their dogs.
