We hope you don't take this thing lightly...Born out of a conversation on the disconnect between what we see of Christianity in pop culture and the media versus the very real teachings Jesus gave that suggested we need to be saved from ourselves - and carry a cross? 

 

In the Gospel of Luke chapter 9, Jesus tells his followers, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." The meaning is complex, but one thing is for sure: the life Jesus was calling his followers into wasn't something to take lightly. What if this charge to carry your cross wasn't ANOTHER self optimization technique or religious exercise to make you feel better about yourself. What if Jesus' strange metaphor to his followers was actually about how to be saved from yourself and live in true freedom?
