Welcome back to You're Allowed to Hate Your Husband! This episode is such a special one for me because I had the pleasure of sitting down with Carson Meyer, an incredible birth doula, nutrition consultant, and now author of the upcoming book Growing Together: Doula Wisdom & Holistic Practices for Pregnancy, Birth & Early Motherhood. Carson has been supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum for years, and her insights are truly mind-blowing.
In this conversation, Carson shares her personal journey—from studying the mind-body connection at NYU to watching The Business of Being Born, a documentary that changed everything for her. We dive deep into the transformative nature of birth and the tools that can help women navigate this powerful experience with confidence and grace.
We talk about the importance of nutrition during pregnancy and postpartum, how to manage cravings, and why prioritizing nourishing foods is key for both mom and baby. Carson also opens up about inner child work, how it supports healing during motherhood, and the importance of communication with your baby during pregnancy.
If you're preparing for birth, navigating the postpartum period, or supporting someone through this journey, this episode is packed with empowering insights and actionable advice. Trust me, you’re going to walk away feeling more prepared, more connected, and more inspired.
